Dharmkot Tailoring School

The Dharmkot tailoring class employs two tailoring teachers and one embroidery teacher. They offer basic and advanced courses. The most gifted students work on income-generating projects, making pillowcases, cushion covers, bags, cloth purses, and sometimes garments on order. The advanced tries to preserve the local heritage by training the women to stitch the traditional Gaddi wedding dress, the "Novachari," an ankle length swirling, colorful dress using 13 meters of fabric for the skirt itself. Classes meet in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mahendroo.

Dharmkot is the center of the tailoring schools. It is where the teachers gather to learn new skills to teach their students. The pictures from various tailoring schools are on the page showing the tailoring skills.
